One of the biggest factors of minimizing the effects of Alzheimer's Disease is becoming aware of your symptoms and seeking help at an early stage.
Many medications are in the testing process, but some doctors say the importance of diagnosing the disease early is not being put into practice.
Dr. Howard Gruetzner, a specialist at the Alzheimer's Association says, "I think the biggest hope right now is that we will still want to see people get diagnosed early. Because if they are diagnosed early, and there are medications available, there’s not going to be as much damage to the brain."
By following advice from Alzheimer Specialists, the effects of the disease could be minimized and symptoms can be prevented for a longer period of time.
New medications are currently being tested, which could slow the process of memory loss, creating a longer and more fulfilling life.
