While a family was celebrating Thanksgiving in Crawford, their day took a devastating turn, when they received a call that their house in Troy, was on fire.
The fire was reported around 3:30 yesterday afternoon, when the grandchildren of the couple who lived next door, contacted the Troy Fire Department. Police Chief David Lowry, said by the time the fire department arrived, "the house appeared to be a total loss."
One difficult situation during the fire, was the lack of a fire hydrant close enough to the burning house.
Fire Marshalls say that fire spread quickly, due to yesterdays heavy winds.
Today, the family is working together to clean up some of the damage, and say they are thankful that no one was injured.
Police say the cause of the fire is currently unknown, and is still under investigation.
