Some sports fans are trying any way to find the best deals for Super Bowl tickets. Unfortunately, what seems like the best deal, could be a costly scam.
At last years Super Bowl, 13,000 people who purchased what they thought were real tickets, were not able to get into the game. The Better Business Bureau says people complained of "never receiving their tickets, and others complained of receiving counterfeit tickets, or tickets for seating that didn't exist."
The BBB says to be cautious when buying tickets online. Use a third party service like PayPal and avoid online auctions and Craigs List or Ebay. Make sure you deal with a reputable sports based ticket company as well.
If possible, inspect the ticket before purchasing it, to look for specific trademarks. All tickets should have a hologram and watermark with the Super Bowl logo on the back, and a raised Super Bowl logo in high quality silver foil.
Experts say that if the ticket is missing any of these marks, the ticket is fake.
