State authorities are intensifying efforts to locate an Austin man who has been on the run from police since 2005—and has been on the Texas Ten Most Wanted list since 2006. DPS has increased the reward offered for information leading to his arrest to $5,000.
Robert Barrera Jr., 28, eluded capture in 2005 when the Austin Police Department attempted to arrest Barrera for a parole violation. He fled from police while wearing a monitoring bracelet on his ankle; the bracelet was no longer working shortly after that.
Barrera’s criminal history includes convictions for burglary of a habitation, criminal trespass, theft, false statement to obtain credit and failure to identify: fugitive from justice. He was released from prison in 2004.
Barrera also goes by the names Raymond Labis, Guzman Escobar and Raymond Larvis. He has tattoos on his left hand, right hand, right arm, chest and back.
