McLennan County Sheriff, Larry Lynch, arrested 24 McLennan County parents who have not been paying child support.
The Sheriff's office worked with the Texas Attorney General's Child Support Division to arrest the parents who have been wanted by authorities for violating court order.
The operation started early Monday morning and continued through Tuesday.
Officials say the arrested parents will face up to six months in jail, and cash bonds that are posted by the parents are given the the custodial parents and the children who are owed money.
Parents who want to avoid the embarrassment of being arrested at work or home should contact the Sheriff's office immediately. Those who do not have outstanding warrants but want to make a due payment arrangements should contact the Attorney General's Child Support Division.
