WACO -- Baylor basketball star, Lacedarius Dunn was no billed by a grand jury Thursday. This after a full investigation into an incident where Dunn was said to have punched his girlfriend, breaking her jaw.
His girlfriend, Lacharlesla Edwards said it was an accident from the start, but many supporters weren't sure.
Now, the jury decided there was no case, and Dunn's attorney, Vik Deivanayagam, says Dunn couldn't be more ready for the future.
"I think people sometimes believe that sports figures perhaps get the benefit of the doubt too often, but the truth of the matter is, they're also under a tremendous amount of scrutiny," says Deivanayagam. "The future holds a lot of promise for Lace. He is going to graduate in May. He's looking forward to hopefully a career in the NBA. His immediate future will hopefully lead Baylor to the NCAA tournament, and I think it's bright for him."
Dunn was exonerated by Baylor, McLennan County's District Attorney, Abel Reyna, and the Grand Jury.
Dunn's attorney says now it's up to the basketball star to show the public who he really is and put this all behind him.
