Save Texas Schools, a coalition of Texas parents, students, teachers, and community leaders, will be rallying for education this weekend in Austin. On April 2nd, the Texas State Teacher Association, including the one in Killeen, will protest for the same goal.
Tony Uzzell, TSTA representative says he hoping for "an atmosphere of desire to see public education be placed on a pedestal." He says if these major cuts are approved, it will hurt our children's motivation to succeed, if they also believe education is less important.
A representative for Communities In Schools, Doug McDurham says he thinks rallying is a great way to get the message out, and for Texans to express the need for education funding. He says, If you can't make it to a rally, you can still contact legislators to express your views on the importance of education funding.
