WACO -- Two men are dead and two wounded after a shooting at the Lakewood Villas apartment complex in Waco.
Police say 911 calls poured in Monday night reporting shots fired at the apartments but say witnesses aren't cooperating.
"Lots of 911 calls, but when officers arrived, nobody would talk to us about what was going on. Nobody saw anything. The people that were there in the complex wouldn't assist officers with information," said Sgt. Patrick Swanton with the Waco Police Department. "Whether they had it or not, I don't know, but you would think at that time of the evening when so many people are out, somebody saw something."
Police found 20-year-old Keenan Hubert and an unknown victim dead and 22-year-old Marion Bible and 20-year -old Deontrae Majors shot.
Police say the four were either standing near a vehicle or were in it when the shooters fired on them.
Nearly 100 people gathered as officers investigated, and multiple fights broke out among the crowd as emotions ran high.
Police say at least four fights broke out in the crowd, and some arrests were made.
"Trying to work a double murder, two people were seriously wounded. Not only were they having to deal with that, they were having to deal with issues with the crowd," said Sgt. Swanton.
We spoke to an employee at the complex, Antonio Gilmore, who says they've been trying to make the apartments safer for a while now.
"Basically, it's just like here we go again, you know. Like I said, we're working hard trying to get this complex together, and little stuff that makes everybody look bad," said Gilmore.
Now, police are searching for those responsible and believe that more than one shooter is on the loose.
Anyone with information should please call authorities.
