BRYAN -- Most of us can't even imagine surviving Texas summers without some form of air-conditioning but what if you don't have that luxury?
Fox 28 and local Mazda dealership, Garlyn Shelton Imports, have teamed up to collect donated fans and bottled water for anyone who needs it.
The fan drive was supposed to end last week but because so many people reached out for help, the drive will continue into September.
Brian Duble, with Garlyn Shelton, says this is a critical time for the community to donate what they can.
"With the heat wave that's come through the area, it's very very important that all these people have these kind of items to help shield them from the heat. You've got to stay hydrated so they need the water and the fans obviously to help keep them cool," said Duble.
Donations can be dropped off at Garlyn Shelton Imports, off Briarcrest Drive in Bryan.
All donated items will be given to the housing authority, where they will be passed out to those in need.
