WACO -- College board has released a report that shows last years SAT scores were the lowest on record.
Both national and statewide scores are down.
The average math score is down 3 points to 502.
The average reading score is down 5 points to 479.
And the average writing scores have been on a slow decline since its inception in 2006, and is now averaging 465.
The state education commissioner says it's because more minorities are taking the test and tend to score lower.
But says more people taking the test means more people are considering college, which is a positive for the future.
