Both sides have rested their case in the murder trial of Willie Contreras.
In March, Nathan Romo,17, was shot in the S.J. Guthrie Park.
Waco detectives believe Romo and Contreras' nephew were planning to fight at the park, but when they arrived, the car with Contreras drove toward Romo, his mother and 2 friends, and opened fire on them.
Romo shielded his mother with his body and that's when he got shot in the head.
On the stand today Contreras said he didn't mean to shoot anyone, just scare them.
The defense asked to change his charge from first degree murder to criminally negligent homicide.
