COLLEGE STATION - Aggie fans knew the move to the SEC would be a good deal.
Not only would the conference change bring national attention to A&M but the switch would also bring in more money to the University.
Since announcing the conference change, A&M SEC apparel has been flying off the shelves.
In the first day of sales more than 10,000 shirts and 5,000 hats sold out within the first five hours.
A&M officials tell Fox 28 they were surprised to be given the opportunity to sell co-branded items so soon.
"If we look back, Nebraska did not have that opportunity with the Big 10. Neither did Colorado last year with the Pac 12 so we see it as a tremendous opportunity to showcase two great brands together in a limited basis as we advance toward the summer next year as we're a full member of the SEC," said A&M spokesman, Jason Cook.
The proceeds from apparel sales go to the Bonfire Memorial, scholarships for the Corps of Cadets, the athletic department and the University's marketing initiatives.
