WACO -- Midway ISD's Education Foundation donated its $1 millionth today.
The Foundation began in 2001 and has given around 350 grants to different schools throughout the district.
This semester each Midway campus will receive at least one grant averaging $5,000 each.
Suzi Pagel has been apart of the Foundation since right after its inception and this is a moment she's been anticipating for a while.
"It's been a real pleasure and a personal mission to get these teachers what they need in the classroom. So I am so, so happy about this one millionth dollar. It's a great milestone for our school, it's a great milestone for our community to put this kind of support back into the classroom," Pagel said.
Midway is the first education foundation in the country to reach the one million dollar mark.
The grant money went to projects like the state recognized astronomy program and iPads for students.
