WACO -- With many holiday parties and events occurring this time of year, alcohol is typically a part of those plans.
But to avoid getting the gift of a ride in the back of a cop car, Waco police are asking citizens to as always drink responsibly.
And if you see someone behind the wheel that could put you or other drivers in danger, police ask that you call it in.
"Definitely call 9-1-1. Give us a license plate, a description of the vehicle, the direction that vehicle happens to be driving and that way our dispatchers put it out to the officers that are in the area and hoping we can get that vehicle stopped before they actually injure them self of somebody else," Sgt. Patrick Swanton, Waco police information officer said.
Police also say this is also the season when many people who don't usually drink have a few... which turn out to be a few too many.
So if you drink, police say, don't drive.
