WACO -- More people than ever are taking classes online now and while students used to think the classes were easy, that just isn't the case anymore.
According to a new study, 67 percent of college professors believe online courses are just as effective as face-to-face classes. Which is a 17 percent jump since 2003.
So we asked one professor who teaches both classroom and online classes to weigh in.
"I think they're just as effective, I just think they're different. And sometimes you get students that would be really reticent in class, that really wouldn't participate, are shy and retiring and they seem to blossom and to open up more in online classes," MCC English professor Dr. Lynn Waller said.
Around six million students take a class online mostly in business and nursing.
And thanks to new technology, Waller says online classes are just as rigorous as classroom courses.
