WACO -- Last night Midway ISD called a special board meeting and made a few important changes to their budget proposal.
One of those proposals involved moving to a double tiered busing system and changing up school times, instead of spending money on more buses.
But last night board members tabled that idea and decided they will continue to pick up Midway students using the same bus schedule.
"We are going to continue on single tiered busing and not purchase buses for the 2012-13 school year, which will make two years of not purchasing buses, and we'll work for the next year on how we'll fund the buses in the future," Traci Marlin, Midway ISD Spokesperson said.
The next Midway board meeting is March 20th and they'll discuss whether or not to keep "hard to fill" teacher stipends.
Any cuts the board does not make will have to be paid for through the districts "rainy day fund."
