WACO -- These days everyone is looking for a bargain and shopping online is a convenient way to find one.
But sometimes it's not as easy as it seems.
"It takes less time, you can make more comparisons, etc. But there are some dangers that go along with that as well," said Richard Kitterman with the Better Business Bureau.
The BBB has had several complaints against two auto companies out of New Braunfels, not filling their end of the deal.
"Not receiving the merchandise, getting the wrong merchandise. The consumers tell us that the owner agreed to a refund and just kept backing out," said Kitterman.
One person ordered a transmission and after receiving the wrong part was charged extra for returning it.
"At that point the consumer said I want a refund and the person said 'well I don't really have to give you a refund but I will for a 30 percent restocking fee," said Kitterman.
The consumer finally paid the 30 percent and never got his part.
So to make sure this doesn't happen to you there's a few things to keep in mind.
"use a credit card to pay because there's some protections built into the use of a credit card," said Kitterman.
Officials also advise to shop around, ask questions, keep records and be wary of internet-only sites without contact information.
