AUSTIN –The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has added Mark Anthony Gasaway Jr., 26, to the Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender list, and a $2,000 cash reward is now offered for information leading to his capture. He has been wanted by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office since December 2010 for felony Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. All tips can be offered anonymously.
Gasaway, whose last known address was Houston, has relatives in Galveston and sometimes goes by J.R. Gasaway. He was arrested in 2002 for the sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl in League City and was sentenced to 10 years probation. From 2004 to 2009, he was arrested several times for drug offenses.
Gasaway is 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 154 pounds. He has tattoos on right and left arm; scars on right knee, left leg, right forearm, and left arm; and a discolored abdomen. Texas Crime Stoppers, which is funded by the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division, offers cash rewards to any person who provides information that leads to the arrest of one of the Texas 10 Most Wanted fugitives or sex offenders. There are four different ways to provide anonymous tips:

Text the letters DPS—followed by your tip—to 274637 (CRIMES) from your cell phone.
Submit a web tip through the DPS website by selecting the fugitive you have information about, and then clicking on the link under their picture.
Submit a Facebook tip at http://www.facebook.com/texas10mostwanted  by clicking the “SUBMIT A TIP” link (under the “About” section).
All calls, texts, e-mails and Facebook messages are anonymous.
DPS investigators work with local law enforcement agencies to select fugitives for the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive and Sex Offender lists. You can find the current lists—with photos—on the DPS website at http://www.dps.texas.gov/texas10mostwanted/ .
