Waskom — A petty cash argument left one person with a large stab wound in Harrison County.
Authorities tell KWKT they received a call for help Monday at around 11:08 p.m. The caller, 54-year-old Jonas Stephens, told officials he had been attacked and stabbed by someone on the 500 block of Restland Cemetery Road in Waskom.
Stephens says he was at the home of Jerry Harris, who was demanding $7 that Stephens owed him. An argument ensued and Harris retrieved a knife and cut Stephens from his ribs to his waist, a gash about 5" long.
Deputies searched for Harris, but were not able to find him.
Stephens was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, treated and released.
The investigation is continuing and any persons with information on the whereabouts of Jerry Harris should contact the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office at 903-923-4000.
