Navasota — One person has died after ramming into the back of an 18-wheeler in Navasota Tuesday morning.
DPS officials tell KWKT it happened around 9 a.m. on Highway 105, about 1 mile east of Highway 6.
Authorities say a 57-year-old man was driving eastbound when he ran into the back of a semi that was stopping to turn into a ranch. He was killed on impact.
The man was allegedly on his cell phone and computer while speeding at the time of the crash. Deputies say the man never stepped on his brakes.
The scene has been cleared and traffic is flowing normally.
The victim's name has not been released.
No other injuries were reported.
