BRYAN, TX – The Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History proudly presents a live painted lady butterfly release on Saturday, July 28th at 10 am. Butterflies will be pre-sold for $20 each prior to the event, please call the Museum to purchase your butterfly by credit card, or you may send a check to the Museum: Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History, Butterfly Release, 3232 Briarcrest Drive, Bryan, Texas 77802. All proceeds benefit the Museum and will be used to match a $5,000 grant awarded to the Museum from Denise Fries of Fries Financial Services as part of her 50th Birthday Celebration in cooperation with the Community Foundation of the Brazos Valley.
Please come to the Museum at 9 am to check in and enjoy refreshments, and take this opportunity to view our new Observation Bee Hive in the Museum’s Discovery Room. A few minutes before 10 am. live butterflies will be passed out to participants and released on the front lawn of the Museum.
Butterflies are limited, so don’t delay! We will also sell some on the day, if any are left! Don’t miss a chance to honor Denise Fries for all of her many contributions to our community, to support the only natural history museum in a 100 mile radius, and to make a special wish as you release your butterfly.

Whoever purchases the MOST butterflies (you may purchase more than one!) also wins the honor of naming the Queen Bee in our new Observation Bee Hive!
The Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History is committed to promoting science, and cultural and natural history with the integration of art in exhibits and educational programs. Regular Museum Admission fees: adults $5; seniors/students/children $4; members and children 3 and under are free. The purchase of a butterfly also gives you free admission to the Museum on July 28th.
