EL Paso, tx — A former Lower Valley youth minister has plead guilty to child pornography charges.
Joe Tapia III changed his plea from not guilty to guilty this morning in Judge Frank Montalvo's court room at the El Paso Federal Courthouse.
The prosecution summarized the list of allegations against Tapia, including possessing images of child porn and engaging in sexually explicit chats with a minor. The FBI had found numerous videos and pictures of children as young as twelve years old on Tapia's work computer back in 2011.
Tapia could face a minimum of 15 years in federal prison. His sentencing is scheduled to take place on January 18, 2013.
