McLane Group will be hosting its United Way Day to support the United Way of Central Texas (UWCT) on Friday, October 5th, 2012 from 11:30 to 1 p.m. Funds will be raised to benefit UWCT through a dunking booth for company executives, raffle prizes, a live auction, and one of the largest food trucks in the world and the largest in the state of Texas - the Coney Cruiser.
James Coney Island, an ongoing family business in Houston, Texas since 1923 will be serving up its classic Coney Dog from the Coney Cruiser. Measuring at an astounding 34 feet long with a custom designed full kitchen, the vehicle is one of a kind. The Coney Cruiser is robustly designed with gigantic flame graphics, a chrome flamed grill, hub caps, and exhaust stacks, making the vehicle a sight to see.
“James Coney Island is thrilled to be invited by McLane Group to drive our new Coney Cruiser to Temple to participate in their United Way Day,” James Coney Island President Darrin Straughan said. “We are looking forward to being involved in such a great event and supporting McLane in their efforts to give back to the community.”
