Armed man robs Temple Jack in the Box

Locks employees in closet

Tuesday, November 27, 2012 - 8:40pm

Temple Police are asking for help today after a Jack in the Box was robbed early Tuesday morning at
gunpoint.

At 5:40 this morning Temple Police responded to a robbery at the 3600 block of Dodgen Loop.

The suspect dressed in black, described as being a black male roughly six feet tall ambushed the restaurant workers as they were preparing to open.

After successfully robbing the store at gunpoint, the man then ordered the employees into a closet where he locked them inside.

Police are asking for any relevant information.

“Crime prevention and crime suppression is not something the police force can do by itself," said Temple P.D Corporal Chris Wilcox. "It takes everybody. It’s a combined effort. The 60-thousand pairs of eyes are much more powerful then 130 pairs of eyes (of the police.)”

The Temple Police Department is looking into whether this robbery may be related to a string of robberies that
occurred in late 2011 and the beginning of this year.
