Temple police investigating Friday night homicide

Authorities have released the name of a Temple man who was killed shortly after 9 p.m. Friday.

Michael Lamar Green, 34, was positively identified on Saturday, and the investigation into his death continues.

According to police reports, Temple police officers responded to a call about a man down at a residence in the 400 block of South 32nd Street at 9:20 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found Temple Fire and Rescue personnel performing CPR on an adult male (Green) in the front room of the home. Green was pronounced dead at the scene.

At this time, preliminary investigation shows that friends of the victim returned to the residence and found him inside the house, with what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds. J.P. Ted Duffield has ordered an autopsy be conducted by the Southwest Institute of Forensic Science in Dallas.

Temple Police Department’s General Investigations Unit is in charge of the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Temple Police Department at 254-298-5500.
