Temple police searching for man accused of sexually assaulting a child
Temple, TX — The Temple Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating Arthur Jay Morgan, 51, of Temple. Morgan is currently wanted for a felony offense of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child.
On Sunday, December 30, Temple police responded to a report of a sexual assault of a child. The 7-year-old victim reported to an adult that Morgan, who is known to the victim, had inappropriately touched the child beneath her clothing. The child further revealed that this had been an on-going series of assaults.
Upon completion of the initial investigation, investigators from the Temple Police Department’s General Investigations Unit presented this case to the Bell County District Attorney, and a criminal complaint was issued against Morgan. Officers have checked numerous locations Morgan was known to frequent, but they have been unable to locate the suspect.
Morgan does have a previous conviction for offenses against children.
