
WOODWAY, TX — According to the police report, officers responded to a traffic crash at Highway 84 and Speegleville Road at 11 p.m. Friday night. Officers determined a motorcycle was traveling north on Old Lorena Road, approaching U.S. Highway 84.
A pick-up truck, pulling a cattle trailer, was traveling west on Highway 84, and witnesses reported the truck ran the red light, causing the motorcycle to strike the truck. The crash critically injured the 31-year-old lone male rider on the bike.
Following the accident, the truck reportedly failed to stop and render aid, therefore leaving the scene. With the assistance of a Woodway officer, who was first on scene and a broadcasted description of the truck, Gatesville Police Department officers were able to locate the truck in their city. Evidence of the crash was recovered from the truck and trailer.
The driver of the motorcycle was transported to Hillcrest Hospital by ETMC and was listed in critical condition. No arrest has been made, pending outcome of the investigation.
The name of the injured motorcycle driver is not being released, awaiting notification of family. Waco Accident Reconstruction Officers are working the crash.
