Waco, Tx — An arrest has been made, in an investigation into a shooting at a local club that left one woman injured last Saturday night.
Waco police have arrested William Glenn Paten II, 21, on aggravated assault charges and unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Waco officers were called to Big Daddy's Bar in the 700 block of Park in East Waco on Saturday night, March 2. Upon arrival police were not able to find a victim. Authorities were later called to a local hospital where a patient was possibly involved in a shooting.
Unable to give the victim's name, authorities found her and discovered that she and her boyfriend had become involved in an altercation with other females at a club.
At the time, hospital officials believed the victim was shot in the face during the disturbance, and her boyfriend had driven her to the hospital to be treated.
However, further investigation and a CAT Scan revealed the woman was not actually shot in the face. "There was no gunshot wound", said Waco police spokesman, Patrick Swanton.
The woman reportedly arrived at the hospital bleeding from the nose and ears. Investigators believed this happened because after the altercation, Paten, who is the woman's boyfriend, allegedly went to his car, pulled out a gun, and started firing shots. "The discharge of the gun may have caused her nose and ears to bleed," said Swanton.
No one was injured from the shooting. Paten, however, did reportedly make threats with it. "He pointed it at several people's heads," said Swanton.
It's unclear at this time whether more arrests will be made. Swanton says the altercation "was a mutual thing"
At this time the incident is still under investigation and no arrests have been made.
