Waco, TX — The Waco City Council approved tax payer’s dollars to help light the historic Waco Suspension Bridge.
$52,500 will help swap old, incandescent lights with newer LED lights.
The new lights will only use 20% of the electricity the current ones do, and they will be considerably brighter too.
Built in 1870, the bridge accommodated cattle ranchers travelling on the growing Chisholm Trail and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
