Waco, TX — The Waco Police Department has released the name of a wanted man who was shot to death by a U.S. Deputy Marshal yesterday.
Yesterday at 12:50 p.m., a law enforcement officer with the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Apprehension Task Force was attempting to arrest Transcini Richerson, 30, who was sitting in a parked car in the 2600 block of Cumberland Avenue.
U.S. Marshals ordered him to show his hands but Richerson ignored them.
At one point Richerson began to reach downward under his seat. That’s when one of the U.S Deputy Marshals fired his weapon and struck Richerson in the face.
Richerson, a parolee with a lengthy history of violence towards cops, was taken to a local hospital where he later died.
Waco Police’s Special Crimes Unit is conducting the investigation.
