Wednesday wildfire update

Yesterday Texas Forest Service responded to ------ fires for 2,657 acres.

Today the Texas Forest Service responded to ---- requests for assistance from local fire departments.

New Fires:

Rusk County, Fire # 096 - TFS responded to a 4 acre fire located 1/4 mile NW of interection of Co Rd 4113 and Co Rd 4112; no homes threatened; controlled at 8:30 am.

Glasscock County, Waymon Fire - Located off of Rt. 158, 3miles NW of Rt. 158 and 137 intersection. TFS responded with bulldozers; engines and Air Attack; 10 acres; 80% contained.

Newton County, Fire 219 - Located off Nichols Creek Rd; TFS bulldozers, Air Attack responded; 20 acres, no structures threatened; Vol. Fire Department on scene.

Angelina County, Fire # 218- 5 miles west of Hudson; 3 homes threatened and saved; UNIT 471 responded; debris buring; controlled at 3:00 pm.

Jasper County, # 220 - 5 acres; 5 homes saved; fire contained at 4:30 pm.

Stonewall County, Swenson Fire - Located 12 miles NNW of Aspermont; Fire is fast moving in grass fuels;TFS responded with bulldozers and engines; Air Attack.

Duval County, Realitos Fire - Located 5 miles south of Realitos;600 acres.

Archer County, Hilton Fire - 150 acres; 3 homes threatened; TFS bulldozers and engines responding.

Andrews County, Sandranch Fire - 1000 acres, TFS bulldozers and engine;Air Attack; 2 SEATS ( Single Engine Air Tanker) responding; active fire spread.

Wichita, Bird Fire - Located west of 7 miles SE of Electra;100 acres; 25 Homes threatened.

Jasper County, # 219 - Fire is 85% contained; Mobile homes, structures saved.

Fires previously reported:

Ector County, Bates Field Fire - 3200 acres; 100% controlled.

Brown County, Camp Bowie Fire - TFS continue to monitor; the 2,955 acre fire on the Army National Guard Training Facility. The fire is 90% contained.
